🎻 Bass Player Wanted – Vintage Country/Western Band (Glasgow-Based)

Looking for a honky tonk heartbeat.

I’m seeking a bass player (upright/double bass preferred, but electric welcome) to join Rex Hooper & the Gunsingers — a vintage country and Western project inspired by the golden era of 1950s country and the dust-blown spirit of the old west.

Think Hank Williams, Lefty Frizzell, Marty Robbins, Ernest Tubb, Kitty Wells — songs about heartache, justice, and long rides home. We're building something real, raw, and rooted in the sounds of a time when every note told a story.

🎶 Looking For:
A solid, tasteful bass player with a feel for vintage country, Western swing, and early bluegrass

Upright/double bass is ideal for the sound, but a warm electric tone is welcome too

Must be based in or around Glasgow

Backing vocals a plus, but not essential

I write and perform original songs as Rex Hooper, drawing heavily on 1950s country & Western traditions. You'll find me and a bunch of live songs on instagram and youtube.
