Description
A stunning early mid century 1950s oak cocktail cabinet, mounted on solid hardwood atomic legs.
In lovely vintage condition, with just the marks and dings you would expect from a piece of this age, the cabinet would be a fantastic addition to any mid century modern home.
From the top the cabinet surface is in lovely condition. It is hinged so that when the lid is lifted, two surfaces separate to reveal the inner cabinet contents.
One shelf becomes vertical when opened and stores glasses - the original ones from the cabinet - and cocktail sticks - three of the originals. The vertical shelf is mirrored, and provides a perfect backdrop for bottles and glasses, with shelves and sections to mix drinks on and in which to stand bottles.
The second shelf becomes horizontal when opened, is again partially mirrored, and created a solid standing, drop-down surface. An LED USB light could easily be added to the rear of this section.
Below the open-out cabinet is a double width cupboard behind two wooden doors. One door is lockable in place, the other latched. The makers label - Inglesants of Leicester - is featured inside the right hand cupboard door.
