Description
This terrarium includes a classic perennial house plant display grown in a beautiful glass container with a cork stopper at the top and open side. The plants are arranged as a miniature garden which is visible from all angles. The conditions inside the container have created a warm, humid growing environment that requires no feeding. The soil included the initial nutrients the plants needed and the break down of debris from leaves provides ongoing nutrients. The terrarium plants selected are low maintenance and compact, so they do not require much attention. This terrarium will require some watering.
This terrarium is well established, and was planted by an expert terrarium maker four years ago. It will continue to perform well for at least the next six years, but in theory can last for ever as it is a self-sustaining ecosystem. It does best in medium-direct light but can handle part shade and full light. It makes a beautiful centrepiece for a table, is attractive when adorned with fairy lights at Christmas and New Year or outside in the summer, and is an elegant focal point for any room.
