Description
BT CONVERSE 420 CORDED TELEPHONE 1999 MODEL HANDSFREE & RJ11 HEADSET SOCKET
I would accept payment with PayPal and post for £3.35 if you don't want to collect in person.
Good condition, tested and in working order, used item, batteries not included, see photos.
This is a corded telephone which can be placed on a desktop or wall mounted. It has a removable rear stand which can angle it upwards when placed on a flat surface, and the LCD display is hinged and can also be angled upwards. It features a basic calculator and phone number directory. It can be used as a speakerphone in handsfree mode, it can also be used in conjunction with a suitable headset attached via an RJ11 socket on the back, BT sold headsets for this purpose but this sale doesn't include one, just the phone, cable and regular handset as pictured. It requires 3 AAA batteries, when I first tried with 3 NIMH rechargeables the display was quite faint due to the lower voltage, alkaline ones were fine. The old batteries inside had leaked slightly at one end but it has cleaned up quite well. It does not include an answerphone, the manual suggests using the BT online one, you could also use it with another phone that provided a local answerphone.
This is an analog phone not a VOIP ethernet one, if you have full fiber you either need an ATA adapter box to connect to ethernet, or a router with an ATA socket built in, then you can use it as normal - the BT Home Hub does provide this, although the BT Business Hub doesn't.
