Description
If you are reading this, it means that the item is still available. No need to ask.
I have accumulated three transistorised practice amps, for which I no longer have a need. They all work as they should, and are light and compact.
Little Giant
Weighs 2.85 kg
Dimensions H x W x D 39x34x15cm
Made in Japan
This amp is the lightest and quietest here, and sounds clean all the way up to full volume. It has just one tone control, but unusually features a tremolo circuit, with a control to turn on the effect and regulate the tremolo speed. There are three inputs which can be used simultaneously, The controls work on all three inputs, so balance the volumes of the inputs at source to get a balanced sound. Works fine with guitar, probably fine for keyboards and even vocals, although the singer is likely to be louder than the amp. No power rating is given, but I doubt that it would be more than about 5 watts.

Sound City SC10
Weighs 5.25kg
Dimensions H x W x D 38x32x18cm
Made in GDR(!)
This amp behaves quite like a valve guitar amp inasmuch as it produces an increasing rock distortion sound as the volume is turned up and/or if the input signal volume is turned up, For this reason I would say that it is suited to electric guitar only. At lower volumes and lower inputs, the amp sounds very clean.
As the weight suggests, this is a robust little amp with a heavy metal grille and corner protectors. No power rating is given, but I guess from the model name that it is 10 Watts.
Price £10
Stagg GA-15 THIS ONE IS NOW SOLD
If you are looking for am amp for private practice at comfortable bedroom levels, or perhaps you are a music teacher whose students would benefit from a ‘loaner’ amp, these amps could meet your need.
See individual prices, or take all three for £40.
