Description
Here we have an all valve 2x12 50-Watt Amp. It was hand-built in England by Cornford as an affordable alternative to their £1000 plus MK50 amps.
I bought it about 12 years ago. I carried it upstairs and have never brought it down since. It's in fantastic condition.
It's what I think of as set and forget amp, It has one channel, and only needs one channel. It's a brilliant natural blues and rock amp. It has the very simplest of controls - but they are all very effective and balanced. It comes with a foot pedal to control the inbuilt boost (which functions like a really good tube-screamer).
The link above gives an excellent overview of the smaller (30W) version of the amp.
As you can see, it's a good size. It has carry handles on the sides and is built like a tank. I'm not sure but I think it has three 12 AX7s in the preamp section and two EL-34s in the power section. This is more than enough.
There is also a very high quality 'hot covers' slip cover to go with it.
I am genuinely reluctant to let this go but my musical direction has changed and I've been focusing on my bass-playing for nearly four years now. So this beauty just sits there.
I am happy to post it as long as you meet the costs. It's possible I could meet you somewhere within 40 miles of Scarborough for a pick-up.
The pictures are an accurate representation of the condition of the amp. It is pretty much unmarked. The grill cover is spotless and the only blemishes are on the top where there are three small marks. To be honest, I don't even remember how they got there since I've really coddled this amp.
If you are in the area and serious about buying, send me a message and you can come and try your guitar through the amp.
Cheers.
