We are delighted to offer this very rare grand tour Victorian period table. Rusticated Blackthorn cane cross frame with Japanese dish under-shelf. Later addition ground edge round safety glass table top. Carved Japanese oak dish with bovine inserts mounted to a rusticated Blackthorn frame. Fabulous knobby texture to the Blackthorn in a deep rich brown. Would have possible been a bowl wash stand originally. It's style & design is of it's Victorian period, late 19th century, circa 1890's.
A very versatile little table offered as a bed side table of lounge lamp table.
It would make a fabulous country house statement . . .
Condition report:
This piece comes direct from a recent grand estate sale & is sold in as found antique condition. It is a antique piece so shows some signs of age related surface scuffs & minor dinks, all in keeping with it's great age & antique charm. Frame remains solid & overall the table presents very nicely indeed & is in lovely antique condition. Frame has been lightly waxed but not over restored to retain all of it's age related patination. Ready to use, love & enjoy once more. Overall an excellent & very unusual piece of furniture in lovely display / usable solid condition with lots of country house charm.
