BEAUTILITY TABLE & 4 CHAIRS (1967)

Description

Very impressive solid wood dining table and 4 matching chairs made by Beautility. Bought from Lynn Thomas & Co house furnishers in Cardiff in 1967 and has been lovingly looked after in the same household ever since. Bought fully assembled.
This is a superb example of a drop leaf circular table and 4 matching chairs along with a custom-made solid table protector, bought at additional cost, which has always been used and has thus allowed the table top to remain in excellent condition. Metal drop leaf mechanism in full working order and Beautility name stamped on all chairs.
This was a special order when bought as the chair seats are bronze as opposed to the black covering which was on the standard version of the chairs. This makes this set much rarer. The quality of this table and chairs is undeniable, all parts original including the seat coverings and no repairs have ever needed to be done. The seats are wider and deeper than average and the seats and chair backs are curved making for a comfortable seating position.
Both the table and chairs legs each have round metal leg studs still in place which elevate the wooden legs off the ground for protection and make them look aesthetically pleasing. The custom made 3 part table protector is 1 cm deep with bound edges and each piece can be used independently and can be folded for storage. Small amount of wear on one part of the underside of the table protector which does not impact on its use.
There is one small imperfection on one chair leg which is not too noticeable. For its age this is an amazing example of how quality solid furniture can last when it has been treated with respect. This is a rare version of the Beautility dining set as it has features which are not found in the standard set. Very solid wooden dining set with another lifetime of use in it.
Table sizes:
115cms x 124cms when leaves are in ‘up’ position
115cms x 63cms just the table top when leaves are in ‘down’ position
115cms x 67cms when leaves are in ‘down’ position including leaf thickness

Table appears round in photos but based on these measurements it is slightly oval which actually makes it a bit more unique and attractive.

I am looking to find a new loving home for this dining set where it will continue to be appreciated and used. This dining set has seen many happy family meals and celebrations. I will include 4 tablecloths in the price including one tablecloth which is vintage St Michael and has 4 matching serviettes and looks so good on the table.
I have tried to show as much as I can in the photos but as most were taken outdoors then there are reflections of the sky in some of the photos especially on the table top and seats. More photos are available. Needs to be viewed to be truly appreciated. Serious buyers welcome to view.
Cannot be disassembled so a van or large car would be needed to transport. Help can be given to put into a vehicle. From a smoke and pet free home. Selling for £250 cash on collection only from Fairwater in Cardiff.
