For sale very rare Ercol Windsor Server / Bureau / Secretaire / Desk / Drinks Cabinet / Sideboard (model 469) in Ercol Light Finish with original Ercol blue label. The cabinet was originally designed to be used as a serving cabinet however it works perfectly as a writing bureau or for laptop use if you want to close everything away when off-line. It is also suitable as a drinks cabinet. Compact and hugely portable and on its original castors, this piece would be the perfect fit for a retro home office or living space.

This iconic piece was designed by Lucian Ercolani and manufactured in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and is now back in fashion (keenly collected and highly regarded). Ercol furniture is synonymous with good design, quality materials and craftsmanship and is built for longevity. This is a real eye catching handcrafted piece of vintage / retro furniture which is no longer in production.

The bureau is superbly crafted and made from solid English elm with the exception of the nicely grained elm veneered back panels, and the dovetailed corners at the top and bottom of each section emphasize how well constructed this piece is, as do the full length hinges which are fitted to the doors. The top secretaire compartment has a drop down writing / serving flap / door and is fitted with two removable and adjustable solid elm shelves. The opening fall front panel is supported by brass latches to each side and a full length piano style hinge for added strength. The central generous sized cupboard is enclosed by two doors and is fitted with a single full depth adjustable and removable shelf in solid elm. The large smooth sliding lower drawer is dovetail constructed with elm linings. The whole cabinet is fitted with original shepherds casters, and this gives the unit great mobility. The cupboard doors and the drawer are fitted with hugely stylish oval inset handles which prove to be such an appealing feature of the Ercol Windsor.

The piece is in excellent (original) vintage condition with some light signs of use. It is free of any damage, repairs or wear to joints. It has been cleaned and waxed. Original Ercol label is still attached.
