Antique Elm Box Small Rustic Storage Chest Vintage Trunk Coffer

This small antique storage box has a good look and is made with solid elm that has a stunning grain and colour - it is ready for use. The style is similar to a larger chest or blanket box but of smaller proportions, ideal for storing a wide variety of smaller items, from documents to hats and gloves. An escutcheon is present on the front but the key for the lock is missing, as is the catch on the lid. There is some loss to the wood around the edge of the lid, as well as on the corners of the bottom trim. As with the majority of elm of this age, there are historical signs of woodworm throughout, however this has been treated thoroughly so should not cause any further issues. There are plenty of marks, scratches and wear spots throughout, commensurate with age, please see photos for full condition.

Approximate measurements are 11 ¼” (28.5cm) tall, 25 ⅝” (65.5cm) wide and 15 ¾” (40cm) deep.
