For sale very rare Ercol Goldsmith rocking chair (model 435) designed by Lucian Ercolani and manufactured by Ercol in High Wycombe. This particular example was manufactured in 1983 (please refer to photos).

Ercol furniture is synonymous with good design, quality materials and craftsmanship and is built for longevity. It is now back in fashion (keenly collected and highly regarded). This is a real eye catching piece of vintage, retro furniture.

The rocking chair has a solid English Elm seat with beech backs, spindles and legs. The seat is showing some lovely complex English Elm grain. The rocking chair has a wave shape top rail and a curved and shaped spindle back for added comfort. Tall back consist of 7 spindles. The well constructed solid elm seat is inset beneath with angled tapering legs, and matching H pattern stretchers help to bolster the chairs structural rigidity. The chair is in Ercol ‘Old Colonial’ finish and satin protective lacquer.

This rocking chair is in excellent (original) vintage condition with some light marks commensurate with age and use. It is free of any damage or repairs. The chair is sturdy with no loose joints or spindles. It has been cleaned and waxed. This piece still retains original label which states it was originally manufactured in 1983.
