All proceeds from this sale will go to the Alzheimer's Society.
A rare survivor, this Wolseley Hornet has spent decades quietly resting under cover. With only 48,000 miles showing and an inspiring story behind it, this is more than just a project car, it is a chance to save a little piece of British motoring history, while supporting a cause close to many hearts.
Background & History
Our seller approached us with wonderfully interesting story explaining how he had been contacted by his good friend and mentor's wife for some advice on finding a new home for her late husband, Roger's, Wolseley Hornet.
Roger, who unfortunately, passed away from Alzheimer's two years ago, kept the car under his carport when it was taken off the road in 1979 after receiving his company car. It had not been moved since and although he had always felt he would recommission the Hornet, sadly time and ill health did not allow that to happen.
Having known the car for many years and having worked with Roger personally since 1977 when he started as an apprentice TV engineer, Roger the car's long-time custodian, had become somewhat of a mentor to our seller so he was pleased to help.
He contacted Evoke Classics and asked if we would be prepared to help find a new owner as he would really like it to be saved. Again, we were only too pleased to help, especially when he shared that the proceeds would go to the Alzheimer's Society
Our seller shared that ""On seeing the car again I was amazed how well it has survived. I feel connected to it and would like to see it go to a good home, restored, with the proceeds going to the Alzheimer's Society.""
As you would expect the car will need some re-commissioning but it is surprisingly solid and the engine turns.
