Description
Our client, a prestigious player in the Defence & Security and Aerospace sectors, is currently seeking a Technical Software Documentation Officer to join their team on a contract basis in Bristol. This role involves ensuring the quality of software documentation, playing a crucial part in the software release process within these highly regulated industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing and maintaining comprehensive software documentation
Ensuring all documentation adheres to quality standards before software release
Collaborating with software developers to understand the documentation requirements for each project
Reviewing and updating existing documentation to meet current standards
Ensuring clarity, accuracy, and completeness of all technical documents
Managing and organising document repositories
Facilitating communication between various project stakeholders regarding documentation needs
Contributing to continuous process improvements for documentation management
Job Requirements:
Experience in software quality assurance and documentation
Strong MS Office skills, particularly in Word and Excel
Understanding of the software development process and lifecycle
Proficiency in managing and organising technical documents
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Capability to work independently and within a team
Security Clearance (SC) required to start, UK Eyes Only (UKEO)
Additional Information:
Location: Fully onsite in Bristol
Duration: 12 months with a possibility of extension
Work Pattern: Compressed work weeks are a possibility
No travel required
1-stage virtual panel interview
Experience in formal safety software preferable (e.g., Rail, Healthcare, Nuclear, Aerospace, Defence)
