Location: Luton (mostly onsite)

Duration: 12 month contract

Rate: £68ph UMB (Inside IR35)

Role details:

Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is looking for an SC cleared Lead Project Planner to join their dynamic team in Luton on a contract basis. This role is crucial to the IDAS team, involving the leadership of planning activities for a complex design and development bid within the Electronics Warfare line of business.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead the preparation and submission of secure and compelling proposals with a focus on project controls.

Manage the project schedules using P6 Scheduling Tool and Primavera Risk Analyser.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver required outcomes.

Coach and mentor bid team members in project controls best practices.

Engage and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders up to VP level.

Analyse and provide recommendations on Schedule Risk Analysis.

Ensure compliance with all procedures and appropriate escalation when necessary.

Maintain commercial and financial acumen in all project planning activities.

Job Requirements:

Active SC clearance

Significant experience in project planning and scheduling, especially in bid phase and complex engineering development projects.

Expert user in P6 Scheduling Tool and Primavera Risk Analyser.

Proven leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor team members.

Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Effective independent working and recognition of appropriate escalation scenarios.

Strong commercial and financial understanding.

Excellent collaboration, communication, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
