Description

The iConnect Zora is a work of art! It is the lightest folding powered wheelchair you can buy, weighing in at an amazing 13kgs. Half the weight of most traditional folding electric wheelchairs, so this really can be lifted in and out of a car easily for transport, or used on a cruise ship, aeroplane or public transport, taking up very little space. When folded it's incredibly compact, but is strong, durable and solid, unlike any other.

If you have been researching carbon fibre wheelchairs, you'll already know they are VERY expensive to buy new, as with carbon fibre bike frames, as they are very complex and expensive to design and produce.

The frame is made of carbon fibre, and is a work of art to look at, with all the benefits of this incredibly strong yet lightweight composite. If Formula 1 made wheelchairs, this would be it!

Despite the sleek appearance and ultra lightweight design, this scooter is very stable and sturdy and can carry people up to 19 stone (120kg) and fits people of all sizes including those well over 6' tall. Pretty amazing design that can carry almost 10 times its own weight. And that's probably why they are so expensive new...

The power is via twin rear wheel 150w motors, with joystick control and adjustable speed settings for ease of use. Automatic electronic braking brings you to a halt whenever you release the joystick, and it is incredibly easy to drive with simple fingertip control. The joystick position can be adjusted forwards or backwards, and can be swapped for left or right handed users. Under the joystick is the charging port and also a USB so you can charge your phone or other devices on the go.

The airline compliant Panasonic 10Ah lithium battery fits on the side, can be removed easily for charging on or off the chair, and holds charge for weeks or months, giving you up to 9 miles on a single charge.

To fold, you simply pull upwards on the seat base and the frame folds flat. No complex mechanisms, or heavy power folding, it is the simplest and easiest of designs. The foot rests are also removable, and the rear handles fold down, making it fit in even the smallest spaces for transport.

This wheelchair was bought with the intention of being used for foreign travel. It was tried in the showroom, suited prefectly, and purchased for an intended cruise holiday. However, due to worsening health, the trips away never happened. It was bought new in March 2024, and kept just in case the circumstances would allow it, but regrettably it is now unlikely to be used. It has been used a handful of times for outings, but is in immaculate condition and has barely been used.

Despite not being used, the battery was charged at least once or twice a month to ensure it remained in peak condition. The battery test shows it is maintaining over 29.48v after charging which indicates maximum capacity and full health. The batteries charge at 29.4v, so ideally should hold similar voltage. If they indicate 28v or below they are considered old and/or weaker, but this one holds charge at 29.48v which is as good as when it was new.

Condition is immaculate, as it was barely used, almost the same condition as when it left the showroom. Apart from the odd mark from storage, the seat, wheels, tyres etc. are all as new.

Comes with single battery pack, charger toolkit and instruction manual plus original box and packaging

These also have a 5 year warranty on the frame

You're welcome to come to view and collect it, or I can deliver for free within a 50 mile radius of Brockenhurst (New Forest) so Southampton, Bournemouth, Poole, Portsmouth, Salisbury etc. and surrounding areas.

Regrettably due to the value of this chair, I will not post or send via courier.

Payment welcome via eBay, or bank transfer or cash if you prefer, at the time of collection or drop off.

Manufacturer's description:

Expert engineering and the latest technology means this powerchair weighs less than any other you’ll find on the market. The frame is made up entirely of carbon fibre, chosen for its impressive strength to weight ratio. Five-times stronger than steel and twice as stiff, it also resists corrosion and it doesn’t fatigue over time. The higher compression strength of carbon fibre coupled with the reinforced seat panel means that despite its lightweight build, this powerchair still supports up to 120 kg in weight. In short? The Zora is the way to go if you want a powerchair that will last.

That carbon fibre frame isn’t just functional – it looks extra special too. The Zora has a minimalist design but it maxes out the style, with the black flecked carbon fibre frame looking smoother and sleeker than aluminium powerchairs. The half-folding backrest is perfect for quick and easy storage at home and stowage on planes, trains and automobiles, while the magnesium alloy wheels add yet another touch of class.

The Zora Carbon holds up just as well outdoors as it does gliding around indoors. The expertly engineered carbon fibre frame counteracts the discomfort of tough outdoor terrain like kerbs and cobbles, and the solid tyres mean there’s no chance of a puncture ruining your day. Flip up armrests allow for easier side transfers and the aerated backrest relieves pressure for longer journeys. The cushions are removable, too, so you can wash them when you need to.

The Zora Carbon houses a 10Ah lithium-ion battery that charges quicker, lasts longer and weighs less than SLA batteries. You’ll get 15 km on a full charge – but the batteries are light enough that you could carry a spare and double up your range. On- and off-board charging add to the convenience, and at 240 watt hours it can be taken on a plane

Double your range to 18 miles with the Zora Carbon Powerchair Spare Battery. Switching between batteries couldn’t be easier. Keep the spare battery in the integrated battery holder underneath the seat, and when the time comes just remove the used battery, slide in the fully charged one and get going again
