2002 Mini Cooper R50 Chili Pack in British Racing Green- Project car

With a sad heart I'm letting go this superb little car, which has given me much driving enjoyment over the past years. It drives fine and passed last MOT (valid until 26/05/2026) with a few advisories, but I would recommend this only as a project car as there are some issues that need sorting out. I intended to overhaul the car myself but I just can't find the time.

I'll start with the good points:

• Chili pack version with sports suspension as on Cooper S models, and a panoramic sunroof
• Not often seen British Racing Green colour
• Alloys refurbed a couple of years ago
• New clutch and related parts installed last year
• New catalytic converter installed last year
• New radiator and some coolant hoses replaced, with full coolant flush and replacement
• Body shell is in good condition with minimal corrosion
• Car has been well-maintained with regular oil and filter changes etc

Now the bad:

• Passenger door scraped and dented due to slow speed car park prang. I have a bare door (base coated) ready to swap, but haven't had time to finish the work. I will include this in the sale.
• Dash odometer and temp display intermittent. This has been getting worse the less I use the car. As such the approx mileage of 156,000 cannot currently be read. I can show the previous mileages from MOT tests to give an approximation.
• Exhaust sounds like it's starting to blow a little bit, so may need replacing soon.
• Intermittent ABS light, I think it needs a new speed sensor on nearside.
• The rear subframe is fairly corroded (advisory on MOT) and could do with replacing.
• Driver's seat is worn at the outer bolster; needs patching.
• Headliner is starting to sag a bit in places and could do with renewal

There are some other minor issues which I can explain to prospective buyers on viewing.
