Description

Have my classic c140 cl420 s class coupe for sell as downsizing my collection. It boasts a beautiful 4.2 litre old school v8 engine and a beautiful fully loaded interior consisting of mahogany wooden trimmed steering wheel and decorations across dashboard and rear arm rest.

I'll be upfront and say as with any old merc there will be the good points and bad gremlins! This one is of no exception (else would be a 10 to 20k showroom car), thankfully the good massively outweighs the bad please see below.

The good
- It is MOTed until July 2025 and had a lot of history with it, of course can sell with a fresh mot (and mot is due soon which it will have one more soon!)
- most important history would be that lifters will be done on both sides, as part of common maintenance for these
- rocker covers are done so as to address the mot advisory in 2024 (no more oil leaks!)
- wiring loom checked thoroughly to ensure it is in good condition
- also fully serviced in 2025 may with the wheel arches redone as they previously had some surface rust. Underside is great condition for age as had been previously garaged, everything is original
- whilst at it we also got new hydraulic lifters for the car as means of pre-emptive maintenance, both banks in may 2025
- recent fresh service dealership oil+ all filters in may 2025
- new rover cover gasket in may 2025 to address oil leak (this +above 2 costed about 1000)
- mechanically it runs and drives fine with full power, engine and gearbox runs perfect and smooth as you will know upon test drive
- it is fully loaded and interior is of great condition including heated leather seats
- some signs of rust around the arches that will be professionally sorted prior to sell.
- It is also de-immobilized
- everything else is original, including original cats
- have had bumper and bonnet repainted in my ownership professionally to do the car right
- the above work set be back about 3k of course it isnt perfect by all means but the new owner would benefit from this and carry on their own work on the car should they wish (although no work is needed to my knowledge)

The bad
- central locking do not work as are the seatbelt butlers.
- mileage a bit on the high side but well preserved example.
- bodywork isnt pristine or perfect sadly but still great condition for age, one or two panels shows slightly different colour, bonnet repainted but of a very slightly diff colour to wings. I can only presume it was repainted prior to my ownership also, not evidence rust or dent/scratch on any panels however which is a good sign
- it has a slight misfire which developed lately thus reduced for a quick sell as was told may need new coil packs or plugs

Overall it is alot of car for the money, as having about 3k spent on the bodywork, service, lifters etc last year. And like this to go to the right buyer.
