SCIENTIFIC BALANCE / WEIGHING SCALES WITH GRIFFIN & TATLOCK APOTHERCARY WEIGHTS BAKELITE BOX

Description

Here is a scientific balance / weighing scale, housed in a wooden cabinet. This model is believed to be from the first half of the 20th century, or possibly early 1950s. It is not known who made it, as the maker’s plaque is unfortunately missing from the front of the case (please see the pictures).

Despite this, the wooden case still has all of its original glass and handles / levers intact. It comes complete with its arm mechanism and two weighing trays, which all appear to be complete and in working order. There is also a spoon, for measuring powders. There are some light signs of use to the trays, but nothing major – again please see the pictures for a clear overview.

It also comes with 2 x Griffin & Tatlock apothecary weights, each in a Bakelite case. Please note both of these are incomplete – and one is missing a small part of its external case. But some of the very small weights are included, along with their original box.

All in all, this is quite a nice example of this vintage scientific balance, along with some Griffin & Tatlock apothecary weights – so hopefully it’ll find a new home.
