Description

Events and Communications Executive

Location: Home-based with travel to meetings and events as required

Salary: Competitive

As part of our continued growth, Care Talk is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Events and Communications Executive to join our small, fast-paced and passionate team.

We are proud to be leaders in the social care sector, producing compelling content across both print and digital platforms through Care Talk Magazine and its sister brands. In addition to our publishing work, we organise and deliver a range of high-profile events that celebrate excellence across the sector — from intimate networking sessions to large-scale awards evenings welcoming 500 to 1,200+ guests.

Our portfolio includes:

Care Talk Magazine, Care Talk Business, The Great British Care Awards, The Learning Disabilities & Autism Awards, The Children & Young People Awards, The Housing with Care Awards, The Dementia Care Awards, The Palliative Care Awards, The Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care Awards, and The Social Care Top 30 & Leadership Awards.

About the Role

In this varied and hands-on role, you will be involved in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of a wide range of events throughout the year. You will liaise with stakeholders across the board — from venues and entertainment suppliers to production crews and sponsors — ensuring each event runs smoothly and reflects our commitment to excellence.

You will also support our communications and marketing activity, helping to grow brand awareness and engagement across our channels. This includes creating content, managing social media accounts, proofreading magazine articles, and ensuring website information is current and engaging.

This role is ideal for a driven and capable graduate looking to gain fast-track experience across events, marketing, and communications — with the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the social care sector.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and coordinate a variety of events, from small networking sessions to major award ceremonies.

* Work closely with venues, suppliers, entertainment providers, and internal teams to ensure smooth event delivery.

* Represent the Care Talk brand at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities.

* Support the marketing and communications team with content creation for both print and digital platforms.

* Assist with the management of social media accounts and e-marketing campaigns.

* Proofread event materials and magazine content; maintain accurate and up-to-date website content.

What We’re Looking For

* A high-calibre graduate (2:1 or above) with some experience or demonstrable interest in events, marketing, and communications.

* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail.

* Confident working with a wide range of stakeholders.

* Familiarity with social media platforms and tools like Mailchimp (desirable but not essential).

* Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

* Willingness to travel and support evening or weekend events as required.

What We Offer

* Competitive salary.

* Opportunities for professional development and progression.

* A collaborative, supportive working environment.

* The chance to play a key role in celebrating the people who make a difference in social care.

Care Talk is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive working environment. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified individuals regardless of background.
