We are currently seeking a Tool Maker to join our local client s team based in Kingswinford, West Midlands on Twilight shift. This Europe supplying company are looking for a Tool Maker to help maintain tools to support production areas.

Monday Thursday 2:45pm 11:15pm Friday 12:30pm 6:30pmOn site parking25 days holiday + bank hols The roles and responsibilities of a Tool Maker:

Always Adhere to Health & Safety requirementsSupport the development of new tools and modify existing tooling by following engineering drawings to measure and mark out designFit, trial, debug and modify new tooling and set and complete try outs in the presses. Monitor the tools used on the manufacturing line to ensure efficient run rates and identify necessary repairs or improvementsMaintain and strip, inspect, repair and rebuild tools for existing customers.Liaise with setters to ensure tooling is repaired and back in service in a timely and efficient manner.Attend machine breakdowns to identify root cause and solve the problemUse hand tools (files, hacksaws and grinders) and machinery (lathes, presses, milling machines and grinders)Use 2D and 3D CAD and manufacturing softwareUse precision measurement instruments such as micrometres, gauges and Vernier callipers to check tooling dimensionsBe responsible for routine maintenance for all press tooling (–ton power press tools, both progression & second operations) Be responsible for jig & gauge making.Compile reports as requiredBe involved in productivity improvement initiatives. Requirements of the Tool Maker:

Mechanical engineering apprenticeship. (City & Guilds I B Tec / NVQ)Experience working within domestic or contract shopsWorked with multistage progression tools (essential)Experienced in all formats of machining (milling, turning, drilling & surface grinding)CNC and EDM machining with knowledge of Visi CAD software Experience of 5SHave a good understanding about Health & Safety requirementsGood attention to detail and hand to eye co–ordination
