Job Title: Sewing Machine Operative

Location: Northampton (Great transport links)

Salary: £12.21 per hour (+ overtime at time and a half)

Contract: Permanent Contract

Hours: Full Time (40 hrs/week) - Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

(Part-time considered - close to full-time preferred)

About The Client

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Sewing Machinist to join an expanding, busy Production Team to help them create high-quality soft furnishings.

The Role

- Operating industrial sewing machines to produce curtains, roman blinds, and soft furnishings to a high standard.

- Working with various fabrics and patterns, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.

- Supporting the wider production team to meet deadlines.

- Experience in soft furnishings is ideal, but we also welcome applications from machinists with transferable skills - particularly those from Northampton’s shoe industry.

What we offer

- Pay: £12.21 per hour

- Overtime: Time & a half (occasional, mainly in summer)

- Holidays: 31 days per year (including 8 bank holidays, 20 flexible days plus 3 days off between Christmas and New Year)

- Pension: Auto-enrolment scheme with employer contributions

- Hours: 8am - 4.30pm, Monday to Friday / No weekends!

- Location: Northampton - excellent public transport access

- Part-time considered if close to full-time hours

About You

- Skilled in machine sewing with good accuracy and speed

- Experience in soft furnishings or related industries (e.g footwear manufacturing) is advantageous.

- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team.
