Description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a permanent Quantity Surveyor position, based in Bradford. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well–established organisation delivering projects in the utilities and civil engineering sectors.

The Role:

The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for managing the commercial and contractual aspects of multiple projects. The successful candidate will ensure effective cost control, risk management, and compliance with contractual obligations, while supporting the financial performance of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and valuations Procure and oversee subcontractor accounts, including valuations and variations Administer contracts (NEC, JCT, or similar) in accordance with best practices Produce regular cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and cost–value reconciliations Identify commercial risks and opportunities, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies Negotiate and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors Ensure adherence to all contractual and legal requirements Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and finance teams Support in the preparation and submission of tenders and contractual claims Manage change control processes and maintain accurate project records Requirements:

Qualified by experience or through formal training Background in utilities, infrastructure, or civil engineering Strong knowledge of NEC, JCT, or similar standard forms of contract Proven ability in commercial management, cost reporting, and contract administration Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills Full UK driving licence Desirable:

Experience working with major utility providers or Tier 1 contractors Awareness of regulatory frameworks and industry best practices Based in Bradford office covering Lancashire and Yorkshire occasional visit to Oxford

Salary: 45,000 to 50,000

Pension: 5 % Employer Contribution

Holidays: 22 Days + Bank Holidays
