Description
Quality Engineer
The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring products manufactured at UK sites meet required quality and safety standards. This includes monitoring performance, driving quality improvements, supporting Health & Safety compliance, and working across teams to embed high-quality processes. The role also involves data analysis to identify trends, implementing corrective actions, and working with suppliers to reduce defects.
Quality Engineer Key Responsibilities
* Record and resolve warranty and goodwill issues promptly, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
* Conduct process and procedure audits for pump assembly at UK sites, recommending improvements and monitoring their implementation.
* Carry out incoming product inspections and component testing to ensure they meet defined specifications.
* Perform mechanical inspections using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, bore gauges, depth gauges, balancers).
* Use assembly tools (e.g., torque wrenches, drills, air tools) during product or component evaluations.
* Maintain the national gauge and tool calibration database, ensuring compliance with required timescales and work with the supply chain and procurement teams to resolve supplier quality issues and create supplier performance scorecards.
* Prepare monthly reports on warranty, scrap, and rework trends, recommending corrective actions and ensure accurate recording and distribution of quality information, including meeting documentation.
* Support document control and other QMS activities to maintain ISO 9001 compliance and coordinate and host external audits (ISO 9001, customer, and supplier) and maintain full audit records.
* Produce and present product evaluation reports to relevant teams and management.
Quality Engineer Health & Safety
* Ensure H&S inspections are completed in line with company and legal requirements (e.g., LOLER, PUWER, LEV, fire safety equipment).
* Promote a positive safety culture through internal inspections and safety briefings.
* Organise or deliver safety training as required and carry out daily work safely, considering colleagues and complying fully with HSE standards.
Quality Engineer Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum 2 years’ quality experience in manufacturing or a similar environment (experience with positive displacement pumps is advantageous).
* NVQ, HNC, or equivalent in a relevant field (desirable).
* ISO 9001:2015 Internal Auditor qualification and Strong knowledge of quality systems, particularly ISO 9001:2015.
* Willingness to travel to customers, suppliers, and company sites.

* Salary: £32k - £37k (DOE) plus shift premium 25%, Monday to Friday: 830AM to 430PM, Life assurance – from start date, Free Onsite Parking, Employee Engagement events, Salary sacrifice pension scheme & Health Cash Plan
