Quality Assurance Officer

Description

Main Purposes and Scope of Job:

Ensuring the quality of products against agreed specifications and supporting the Technical Team.

Reporting to:

Technical Manager

Duties and Key Responsibilities:

* To check finished products against the technical specification including random weight & metal detection checks.

* Check the level of hygiene in the factory premises and taking action where appropriate.

* To ensure daily paperwork is completed within the factory, including weights, temperatures, cleaning records, start up checks, metal detection, packaging traceability, sieving records and all records within the quality system.

* To complete detergent & disinfectant strengths and action accordingly.

* To complete calibration checks on temperature probes and scales.

* To assist with checks to incoming ingredients and packaging materials.

* To assist with internal auditing where appropriate.

* Filing of daily records.

* To assist with the printing of product labels.

* To sample products for microbiological testing and complete the associated paperwork.

* To liaise with both the Quality Manager and Compliance Manager in the absence of the Technical Manager and assist in dealing with investigations into customer complaints and technical issues.

* To assist with other issues and tasks as deemed appropriate by the Technical Manager
