Job Title: Purchasing Manager

Location: Halfiax

Hours: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced purchasing professional with a passion for strategizing and leading procurement activities in a fast–paced manufacturing environment? We are seeking a highly motivated Purchasing Manager to oversee and develop our procurement functions, ensuring the timely and cost–effective acquisition of materials and services essential for production.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and implement effective purchasing strategies across the organization.Collaborate with the Group Procurement Team to achieve group purchasing goals.Manage a raw material procurement budget of approximately 35 million in line with company policies.Develop and manage a high–performing purchasing team.Negotiate with suppliers on lead times, costs, and payment terms.Maintain optimal inventory levels and manage stock records via ERP systems.Oversee the accuracy of inventory pricing and Bill of Materials for sales.Prepare and present monthly procurement reports.Coordinate with various departments to ensure smooth delivery of raw materials.Lead quarterly stock audits, analyze variances, and validate stock counts.Regularly review supplier performance and service levels.Ensure compliance with Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental standards, including ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001.Travel within the UK and Europe as needed.The Ideal Candidate:

Proven experience in procurement within a manufacturing or fast–paced environment.Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, procurement software, and ERP systems (SAP preferred).Degree–qualified, CIPS certification, or substantial relevant experience.Exceptional negotiation, communication, and relationship–building skills.Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a procurement team.In return for your commitment my client offers a stable and secure career for a technically motivated engineer.
