Description

Hi,

Do you have experience operating Machinery or within a Production environment? Do you consider yourself to be methodical to tasks and an asset to a busy team? Are you based in or around Sittingbourne?

We have an initially temporary role available within DS Smith’s Paper Mill. The successful applicant will be a good communicator who is proactive, reliable and thrives in a production environment.

Role: Operator (Winder/paper machine setter)

Location:DS Smith Paper, Kemsley Mill, Sittingbourne ME10 2TD

Rate: £39,330.20 per annum

Contract length: 3 months initially with the view to extend or offer a permanent position

Shift Patterns: X4 on X4 off (this will consist of X2 days, X2 nights, 12 hour shifts)

Start: ASAP (within 1-2 weeks)

Responsibilities:

*

Assisting the operation of both winders

*

Operating the auto packing area, conveyor system and auto flight system

*

Preparing dry end of paper machine

*

Supporting on the paper machine when the winder is not in action

*

Completing specified check lists and reports as required

*

Following appropriate procedures as trained at all times

*

Adhering to a high level of UK Health and Safety at all times

*

Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping within the department

Essential requirements:

*

Previous experience within a production, machine operation or industrial environment

*

Prior experience within a paper mill (desirable, not compulsory)

*

Driving Licence and access to own vehicle (compulsory)

*

Strong attention to detail

*

Good knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation

*

A proactive approach to tasks and ability to work on own initiative

*

Approachable individual that can also work as a team

*

Strong verbal and written communication skills
