Description

The Quality Control Technician is part of the our Operations team creating new industry–leading diagnostics platforms for life sciences and clinical markets. In this position you will support the Operations department with Incoming Quality Control inspections as well as investigatory procedures.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and will have the ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative. Maintaining process quality and reliability is critical to our products, the ideal candidate will have strong analytical and observational skills, with the ability to follow complex operating procedures with an exceptional attention to detail. This position will require working with various measurement equipment to verify the status of incoming materials.

Requires the ability to manage tight deadlines, multiple tasks, assignment changes, periodic heavy workload, rapidly changing technology, and dynamic business growth.

Your Key Responsibilities:

Perform incoming quality control inspections, including a variety of different measurement types such as optical, laser profiling, and qualitative visual inspections. Apply knowledge of GD&T to analyse component and assembly drawings for inspection, with a focus on critical dimensions/specifications. Escalate and support investigations into non–conforming materials. Develop and validate test methods for the inspection of received materials. Test products to defined criteria to ensure and verify that they meet internal quality standards. Generate and maintain inspection documentation and ensure cross–functional review and approval. Understand the requirements of the production and warehouse teams and prioritise inspection activities accordingly. Understand and follow Health, Safety and Environmental policies. Execute experimental protocols to qualify or validate production batches or new equipment. Manage your own work areas and ensure they are kept orderly using the 5S methodology. EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Essential Experience

Familiarity with metrology and measurement methods/devices for QC (optical measurement, touch probe, laser profiling, callipers, micrometres, tensile/compression testing, etc.). Relevant industrial experience working hands–on in a high–volume manufacturing environment in medical devices, IVD, or a similar quality–focused field. Solid understanding of requirements for First Article Inspections, Sampling Inspections, and Acceptance Quality Limits (AQL). Ability to communicate technical outcomes from inspection activities to a wide range of stakeholders with varying technical backgrounds. Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to work safely and in accordance with Health, Safety and Environmental policies. Desirable Experience

Familiarity with OGP optical measurement machines, Keyence Laser Profiling (or similar) Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) Experience with statistical software packages such as Minitab, JMP, etc. Experience with the 5S methodology and aiding continuous improvement programs Exposure to clean room facilities and Good manufacturing Practises is a plus.
