Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Description

I am looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer to service production needs in regards to regular maintenance, engineering issues and machinery breakdowns. All maintenance activities are in compliance with ISO 9001: 2000, ISO 14001 and other customer specific standards as relevant.

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

To carry out routine servicing and inspection on all production machinery and mechanical systems and equipment.

Use the preventative maintenance system to reduce breakdowns and unplanned maintenance.

Carry out essential legislative testing of mechanical equipment and systems.

To work safely within the company's Health and Safety Procedures.

To identify and keep essential stock items at necessary working levels.

To assist the Engineering Manager in identifying process improvements through elimination of downtime and other continuous improvement initiatives (CIP Process).

To assist the Engineering Manager with projects and developments.

Liaise when necessary with external contractors.

Essential Skills

ONC, HNC or City and guilds qualified.

Hydraulic and pneumatic experience.

Mig and MMA welding experience is essential. Tig would be beneficial.

Heavy / Medium engineering background.

Lifting and slinging experience

Computer literate. Can use Microsoft office. Use of PPM system such as Pirana or similar.

Driving licence.

Preferred but not essential

Turning experience.

IPAF qualification. The job involves working at heights.

Some basic electrical experience.

FLT licence

Atex Experience

Gas burners / Gas safe registered

Hours of work 7.30am to 4pm Monday to Thursday and 7.30am to 3pm on Fridays. Flexibility is required to work on Saturdays (paid overtime).
