Goods Inwards Inspector Motherwell Day Shift – Monday to Thursday 32,268 + early finish every weekend

We're hiring for a Goods Inwards Inspector to join a well–known manufacturing site in Motherwell. This role is all about precision, ensuring that only quality–assured parts enter production. If you've got a keen eye and solid hands–on inspection skills, this could be your next move.

What You'll Be Doing

Carry out dimensional checks using micrometers, verniers, calipers, and portable measuring tables – this is a key part of the role

Inspect incoming materials and components against quality standards

Investigate quality concerns and determine whether parts should be accepted or rejected

Review returned parts and support with initial sample checks for new components

Record non–conformances using SAP, and liaise with teams across quality, design, and production

Contribute to cost–saving, outsourcing, and continuous improvement efforts

Absolute Requirements

Hands–on experience performing dimensional checks using manual measuring tools (micrometers, verniers, calipers, etc.)

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings confidently

Desirable

Experience using CMM equipment and software

Previous inspection experience within a manufacturing environment (automotive, marine, oil & gas, or construction)

Qualification in mechanical engineering (City & Guilds, ONC/HNC or similar)

Familiarity with ISO9001 and other quality systems

Comfortable with SAP and Microsoft Office

Good problem–solving and decision–making skills
