Fabrication & Machine Shop Supervisor, East Kilbride, 42,000 – 45,000

We're recruiting for a hands–on Fabrication & Machine Shop Supervisor for a permanent role in East Kilbride. The position involves leading a small team of machine operators and welders in a precision engineering environment. This is a day shift role with early Friday finishes and flexibility on start/finish times.

As a Machine Shop Supervisor, you'll be responsible for:

Overseeing the day–to–day operations of the fabrication and machine shopLeading, supporting and motivating a team of machinists and weldersOperating horizontal boring machines and other conventional machine tools (lathes, drills, mills)Reading and interpreting engineering drawings to plan and carry out machining workEnsuring work is completed to required specifications and tight engineering tolerancesCarrying out inspections and maintaining quality throughout the processSupporting the development of standard operating procedures and continuous improvementMaintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment

What we're looking for:

Previous experience in a fabrication or machining environmentProven leadership or supervisory background within a workshop settingSkilled in the operation of conventional machine tools – particularly horizontal borersAbility to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawingsAttention to detail and commitment to high–quality standardsForklift and/or overhead crane licence (advantageous)Good understanding of health and safety in a manufacturing environmentInterested?
