Edge Bander Operator

Location: Pontefract

Pay Rate: £13.91 per hour

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm

(30-minute unpaid lunch + 2x 15-minute paid breaks)

About the Role:

We’re looking for a skilled Edge Bander Operator to join our client’s busy wood manufacturing facility in Pontefract. You’ll be working with modern edge banding machinery to apply edging strips to wood-based panels, ensuring clean, precise finishes that meet production specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

Operating, setting, and adjusting edge banding machines

*

Applying PVC, ABS, wood veneer, or laminate edging to panels

*

Monitoring glue temperature, feed rates, and cutter settings for optimal quality

*

Checking panels for quality, trimming excess edging, and making fine adjustments

*

Reading and interpreting technical drawings and work orders

*

Performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting of the machine

*

Following all health & safety and quality control procedures

About You:

*

Proven experience in edge banding or similar woodworking machinery operation

*

Good mechanical understanding and eye for detail

*

Ability to work to production targets while maintaining quality

*

Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
