Description

We are seeking an experienced Control System Maintenance Technician to support the reliability and efficiency of production equipment across a modern manufacturing facility. This is a hands–on, multi–skilled role requiring both electrical and mechanical maintenance expertise, with a strong emphasis on preventative maintenance, fault–finding, and automation systems, including PLCs and robotics.

The successful candidate will carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide range of equipment and systems–ensuring minimal downtime and high production performance. You'll also take responsibility for writing and executing PLC programs, maintaining robotics, and supporting firmware updates and equipment testing.

This is a varied role, with duties ranging from on–the–ground technical troubleshooting to contributing to the development or relocation of machinery and production processes. You'll work both independently and as part of a wider maintenance and engineering team, ensuring seamless communication across shifts and upholding site safety, hygiene, and operational standards.

Key responsibilities include:

Performing preventative and corrective maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and robotic systemsDiagnosing faults and resolving issues efficiently using technical drawings and diagnostic toolsWriting, testing, and deploying PLC programs and logic for field devicesMaintaining records in the maintenance management system and updating machine filesSupporting site infrastructure, including boilers, compressors, chillers, lighting, and fire safety systemsEnsuring a clean, organised, and safe maintenance environmentSuggesting improvements to enhance safety, uptime, and productivityProviding technical support to operators and production teamsAssisting in new equipment installation and commissioning as requiredSkills & Experience Required:

Time–served apprenticeship or equivalent experience in engineering (electrical/mechanical)Proven experience in preventative maintenance and equipment repairProficiency in reading electrical/mechanical schematicsHands–on experience with PLC programming and robot maintenanceStrong IT skills, including MS Office and maintenance systemsExcellent communication and problem–solving abilitiesCalm under pressure, proactive, and detail–orientedFamiliarity with hygiene, safety, and environmental standardsThis role is ideal for a self–motivated technician who takes pride in maintaining high standards and enjoys working in a fast–paced, high–tech environment.
