Description

We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established logistics business in Ashford for an experienced Senior Warehouse Operative. This role is ideal for someone confident in managing daily warehouse functions, supporting junior staff and maintaining a safe, organised environment.

You'll be involved in a mix of hands-on tasks, equipment upkeep, stock control, and system updates. Flexibility and leadership are key, as the role supports both operational efficiency and compliance.

Salary: Up to GBP28,399 per annum

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:Carry out regular stock checks, cycle counts, and inventory investigationsSupport junior team members and ensure a smooth daily workflowHandle goods-in and dispatch, including accurate system updatesMonitor and resolve non-conformance (NCR), hold, and quarantine stockPerform light maintenance tasks and safety checks (e.g. PAT testing)Keep the warehouse clean, organised, and safe at all timesEnsure accurate labelling and documentation of all stock movementsCommunicate with internal teams and external customers in a professional mannerLoad/unload vehicles and verify that goods are secure and damage-freeEnsure that warehouse processes follow health and safety standardsComplete basic reporting and assist with audits when requiredWork flexibly across departments and occasionally at other local sites if neededWhat You'll Need:At least 2 years' experience in a warehouse setting, ideally with supervisory exposureA practical understanding of health & safety in a warehouse environmentExperience with stock control systems and basic warehouse adminA proactive, team-focused attitude with the ability to lead by exampleGood communication skills and the ability to multitask under pressureValid licences for Counterbalance, Reach Truck, and PPT are highly desirableBasic maintenance knowledge is a plus (PAT testing/racking checks)This is a great opportunity for someone ready to take on more responsibility in a busy, hands-on role where every day is different.
