Import Operations Assistant

Description

Join the team at George Baker as an experienced Freight Forwarder and take the lead in managing our customers' air and sea freight - from arrival through to final delivery. You'll play a key role in ensuring smooth, efficient logistics and outstanding service every step of the way.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage import air and sea freight from arrival to deliveryUse internal systems to create and track shipmentsHandle FCL and LCL shipmentsCheck and forward documentation to shipping linesBuild strong customer relationships to grow businessComplete accurate customs declarationsCoordinate with clients, depots, warehouses, and hauliersProvide regular shipment updates to customersInvoice according to quotes and fee structuresResolve queries and issues efficientlySkills and Experience Required:

Minimum 3 years previous experience in a similar role essentialGood knowledge of customs processes and documentationAbility to communicate effectively with shipping lines and hauliersHighly organised with ability to prioritise own workloadSelf motivated, reliable, trustworthy and hard workingProactive approach, problem solving skillsImpeccable attention to detail and conscientiousness vitalBenefits
