Ascent roof conversion is the best company we came across in the last 10 years. This project was ruined by another contract company ‘’Dominic Homes’ ‘ recommended by Bark who withdrawn without notice in November 2020. The building was left in a bad condition and we overpaid this project as we trusted. Mick Wynn took this project and identify and rectified the mistakes. He is very knowledgeable,experienced, organised and have systematic approach to this project. He is very thorough with the regulatory requirements. Mick Wynn treat our project as his own project in order to get the best out of in a cost effective way. Mick is Very honest and readily available for any discussion at any time. Mick solve the issues in a simple manner without troubling us as he got wealthy of knowledge and experience. We have three months for the completion of this project but we are so far very happy with them and very glad that we found them. Thank you Bark team.

After years of deliberation and delaying we finally decided to take the plunge and carry out our loft conversion with Ascent Builders after seeing a portfolio of their work performed at the other properties. We eventually renovated all 3 floors of our property including a new very large kitchen-diner. We had a number of builder’s quotes, which I would thoroughly recommend; this will allow you to appreciate the costs involved in your choices. And you will realise that the cheapest quote is cheap for a reason. Mick from Ascent listened to our wish-list and they translated our very specific needs and wants into a very contemporary bricks and mortar result. The truth is building work will involve dust, mess and moments of stress. So, it was important for us that the chosen team were professional and honest. Ascent Builders were reliable and each member of the team was extremely knowledgeable about their particular field. Words of advice? I would say think through your building needs as a family. Together we decided to stay in the house during the entire build, as this meant we had more control and more finance to spend on the finishing touches. Be realistic about costs and keep within your budget. From experience, costs can rise when you change your mind on parts of the build or ask for extras where costs can quickly add-up. Finally, think about building in stages. The initial stage, the loft conversion was started from the outside so our lives were not impacted. When the middle floor and ground floors were started, we could always escape to the top of the house. Is the end result what we were expecting? Honestly, it is better. I now live in the home I always wanted. I would gladly recommend Ascent .

As yet - some weeks following a visit from Ascent Builders - we have had no response with regard to estimates which were promised. This, despite follow up reminders. It is unlikely, therefore, that we will be taking up work with this company.
