Description
Compact Mulching Electric Rotary Lawnmower Mower
This Einhell GC-EM 1030 was purchased new some time ago from Screwfix at a cost of around £75.
It was used once only and then stored but over time we have misplaced the grass collection box.
But, all was not lost…I had read various articles about converting a conventional lawnmower into a mulcher to make access easier without a large grass box. Also, as a mulcher there are no grass clippings to dispose of as they are finely chopped and returned to the lawn retaining moisture and nutrients.
Decided to go about this straightforward transformation…
Most importantly the grass chute to grass box had to be closed off to prevent clogging and keep the clippings within the deck, this achieved by fitting a piece of laminate (see images).
Secondly, the standard cutting blade had to be modified to extend the cutting edge on both sides to allow the clippings to be cut repeatedly (see images).
That was about it and the end result works brilliantly with an ultra light mower that manoeuvres easily and no pesky grass clippings to dispose of!
Good mulching is achieved by NOT cutting wet or overly long grass.
This cracking little mulcher is ideally suited to the smaller garden where space is limited or the lawn is ‘fiddly’ to cut.
It is virtually impossible to buy a compact and cheap mulcher and I’m sure someone will make good use of it.
Also included is a good quality cable tidy.
Any inspection or test welcome.
Now surplus to our requirements and priced to clear.
NO offers thanks.
Cash on collection please.
