Description
Used but working HP Compaq Pressario CQ70 Laptop (circa 2003) - intermittent screen ribbon therefore repairable or for spares. Currently running tiny11 - the slim down version of the latest Windows operating system especially designed for older computers.
Also installed is Libre Office suite and Outlook Mail for Windows.
NB - the screen ribbon could do with replacing as occasionally the display is lost (as shown), and subsequently the webcam does not work. BUT can equally be used through a separate monitor. USB webcams are readily available and cheap and the screen ribbon is an inexpensive fix for someone with good technical/electronic skills.
NB - battery life is fair for the age of the machine, dependant on workload.
Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU T3400. Total memory 4096MB. Processor speed 2.16GHz.
CD/DVD read/write - HDMI, USB (x3), VGA port, Ethernet and WiFi capable, Built in speakers, Audio I/O jacks (x2) Power supply and battery. An ideal laptop for children doing home schooling, or someone wanting to conduct online business such as browsing, shopping and banking etc.
I would rather it was used than end up in landfill.
