Plan A Head Garden Design is a flexible and cost effective local design company. It was set up to provide a friendly and stress free way to design your garden. Planning a garden from scratch or just giving your garden a makeover can be difficult thing especially if you don't know exactly what you want. I can help you to bring out the best from your garden whatever the size.

I can help you to design your garden from a blank canvas or help you to pick out the bits that work and design around them. Moving the project forward I can find landscapers for you and Project Manage the whole implementation process. Or, if its just your borders that are a problem I offer a planting plan service. I can design for all year round colour and interest and supply the plants/plant out if you wish.

I worked locally for two large landscaping firms over six years but decided to set up my own business so that I could also dedicate more time to my family. I have designed many gardens of different shapes and sizes; challenging ideas and perceptions so that the client could gain the most out of their outdoor space. All were designed with the clients budget in mind (if known) and a realistic approach to material choice and construction .

Plan A Head aims to provide a professional, sensitive service to help come to design solutions that suit the customer.

In these strange days of Coronavirus I am also able to offer a remote online service for clients across the country. By supplying me with garden measurements, photographs and a completed questionnaire, I am able to design your garden for a flat fee without a site visit. This method is only as accurate as your measurements so I also provide you with a leaflet on 'how to measure your garden'. Restrictions regarding garden size (max 250 sq m) and elevation changes apply.

Although I had been reasonably happy with my back garden, the lawn was in a very poor state and the border edging was rotten and falling away. It was staring to look a mess and I wasn’t sure what to do with it. Jo, of Plan A Head Garden Design, couldn’t have been more helpful in suggesting ways to make it more manageable. She listened carefully to my ideas and incorporated them in a design for me which she later adapted, enabling me to have the work carried out in line with my limited budget. In addition she liaised with a couple of landscapers on my behalf. Eventually however, I chose a local firm to do the work. I am very happy with the service provided by Plan A Head Garden Design and would not hesitate to recommend them.

We had quite a long wish list for our garden and Jo has managed to produce a wonderful design which ticked every box we asked. She was very flexible in the process and amended the drawings as we went so we could see the finished effect. In fact Jo was so good we also asked her to plan our front garden too. She is a wonderfully creative person, and is extremely reliable. We will be asking her to help us with planting in the future. If anybody needs garden plans I would highly recommend Jo of Plan A Head Garden Designs 👍

We are so pleased we went with Jo at Plan a Head to help re-design my mums garden. The design fit the brief exactly, and with Jo's great knowledge of the best plants to use - the result has been even better than we had hoped for. Sticking to a budget and helping project manage the landscaping work - would couldn't recommend Jo enough.
