I asked Garath to pitch for my 2 story side extension in 2022, he was 1 of 3 companies we asked. He came back promptly with a competitive quote which was similar to the other two. He then started the work about 6 months later. The work was completed on time with minimal issues along the way. His team are all friendly, always happy to chat through the plans and work with me and Zena making tweaks along the way. The after care he provides is also on point. About 1.5 years after the work had been completed we had issues with a leaking roof (nothing major, just a crack in the fibreglass flat roof), I phoned Garath and he came and fixed it within a week, without any bother, which really does let you know what kind of builder his is. We met Garreth around 18 months ago as a result of severe last minute warning bells going off with our then contractor for a complete loft conversion on our bungalow. This was at the end of a 3 year failed relocation due to COVID and all the fall out since so to say stress levels were high is a high understatement, further risen to having to find a new contractor from somewhere and the project put on hold for another 6 months, not idyllic for any tradesperson coming in. The first thing that struck me was how relaxed Garreth was, added with our research on his company and past projects, it was much needed after the past 3 years of disappointment and failed property sales as you start looking for problems. He had to deal with my mother, being a spritely 80 year old, having to remain living on site with the roof coming off and new floor added, my very high final finish expectations, our budget and of course time scale so after some further deliberations and quote he was hired and it was the best decision to date, bar none, it made the past 3 years of hell worth it! When you spending £100,000.00's it can run away from you and you're waiting for the "sorry, this is going to cost another £?????" as it did with the previous contractor but not Garreth as his project price was fixed, and we can testify to that, just that on it's own is such a huge weight off your shoulders as like must of us we didn't have a limitless pot of gold. Right from day 1 the project was planned meticulously, we were kept informed, always there to receive deliveries, work area tidy and all of his team polite and incredibly helpful to my mum and respectful of her space. I'm fussy, very fussy, especially when it comes to quality of work so the beady eye was out and after a month of Garreth's team starting the work, and by god are they not only quick but super precise!, all my concerns faded away by seeing the finish of the first fix of joinery that can look shoddy but no, all of it was totally perfect, and that set the tone for the whole job. No matter what was thrown at them it was done and done to a high standard, phone calls answered, problems resolved without drama and the final result we couldn't be more proud off. I hope this helps the reader as it really is a nightmare trying to find a reputable builder, and I hope it helps Garreth and the team because they deserve it - you won't need anyone else's number, just keep his as we have.
