Certain models had leaned heavily on appeasement for specific buyers, yet the 1996 X100 Series of Jaguar XK8s was the first in line of elegantly styled coupes and convertibles to meet expectations for the futurists as well as the retro-fans.

Powered by an all-new alloy 4.0-litre AJ-V8 engine mated to an astonishingly smooth five-speed automatic gearbox, this smooth-running engine produced 294 bhp right out of the box, instantly placing the XK8 as a world-class sports car.
