Description

We are looking for a Web Development Project Manager to work for a legal claims client that is based in Rawtenstall.

The role is Hybrid 3 days a week in the office 2 day WFH

Client Profile

Fast-growing, purpose-driven organisation committed to supporting UK veterans in accessing vital services — including guidance and legal support for noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL) claims.

We’re now looking for a technically confident, detail-focused Web Development Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for coordinating the development and ongoing improvement of web platforms, tools, and internal systems — many of which are built on PHP-based frameworks.

You’ll work closely with our internal developers, marketing teams, and third-party partners to ensure our digital infrastructure is stable, scalable, and aligned with the needs of the business and our veteran clients. This is a delivery-focused role ideal for someone who understands how to translate technical requirements into action, keep developers on track, and ensure our web projects are delivered on time, on scope, and with a clear business purpose.

This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future digital ecosystem and play a direct role in our mission to support those who’ve served.

Job Role

Web Development Project Manager

Manage end-to-end website and web application development projects — from initial brief through to deployment and post-launch optimisation.

Coordinate cross-functional teams including developers, designers, content writers, and marketing leads to ensure project alignment and on-time delivery.

Create and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, budgets, and resource schedules.

Translate business requirements into technical deliverables, ensuring both internal stakeholders and developers are aligned on scope and outcomes.

Track and manage project milestones, deliverables, and risks, providing regular status updates to leadership and stakeholders.

Conduct quality assurance (QA) checks throughout development to ensure functionality, performance, and UX standards are met.

Manage change requests, ensuring that scope changes are properly documented, communicated, and approved before implementation.

Hold daily stand-ups or regular sprint check-ins, depending on agile/waterfall or hybrid development approach.

Liaise with third-party vendors, hosting providers, or freelance developers when needed.

Champion best practices in web project delivery, including documentation, version control processes, and deployment workflows.

Ensure projects are compliant with relevant standards, such as GDPR, WCAG accessibility, or internal data security policies.

Optimise workflows and processes to improve team velocity and delivery quality.

Essential Skills & Experience

Proven experience managing web development projects (minimum 2–3 years in a digital, tech, or agency environment)

Solid understanding of web technologies (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, CMS platforms like WordPress) — you don’t need to code, but you need to speak the language

Comfortable managing cross-functional teams including back-end and front-end developers, designers, QA testers, and stakeholders

Experience working with cross-functional teams (developers, designers, QA, content, marketing)

Proven ability to translate business or user requirements into clear technical briefs for development teams

Exemplary project management skills — confident managing timelines, resources, budgets, and dependencies

Proficient with project management tools such as Trello, Jira, Asana, or Monday dot com

Experience working in Agile or hybrid Agile/Waterfall environments

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills — able to translate technical detail into plain language and vice versa

Confident in running stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and other delivery rituals

Familiarity with source control systems (e.g. Git, GitHub, GitLab) and basic CI/CD workflows

Comfortable using collaboration tools such as Slack and Google Workspace

Very high attention to detail, especially around QA, testing and deployment processes

Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

Familiar with SEO basics, web performance optimisation, and user experience (UX) principles
