R Specialist (Admin) – Contract Opportunity

Location: 2 days per week onsite in Hertfordshire (preferred) or London

Start date: ASAP

Day rate: £550 - £650 DOE, inside IR35

Contract length: 6-12 months

We are looking for an experienced R Administrator with strong expertise in R package development, Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure DevOps to join a forward-thinking, collaborative environment. This role is essential in supporting robust analytical operations and ensuring smooth development, deployment, and maintenance of R environments across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

* Build and maintain central repositories for R packages.

* Collaborate with development teams on package development and deployment.

* Configure and manage package sources, mirrors, and custom repositories.

* Ensure availability, documentation, and accessibility of R packages.

* Support internal package development and publication.

* Manage dependencies to ensure a stable analytical environment.

* Install and maintain R and Frozen R packages.

* Create scalable R compute environments using Docker.

Essential Experience:

* R Package Management and Installation

* Docker & Kubernetes

* Knowledge of Posit

* Experience managing R environments in large organisations (1000+ users)

Nice to Have:

* SAS

* Hands-on with Domino and Databricks

* Azure DevOps

* Python

* GitHub

* Experience in Agile/Scrum teams
