Description

1st Line IT Support Technician – Cambridge

Salary: £25,500 – £30,000

Location: Cambridge

Sector: IT Managed Service Provider

CloudScope are proud to be partnering with a growing Managed Service Provider in Cambridge to recruit a 1st Line IT Support Technician. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong technical skills, great customer service, and a passion for IT who’s looking to develop within a supportive and friendly team.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be the first point of contact for clients, providing both remote and on-site support. Expect a varied role where no two days are the same, including:

* Troubleshooting PCs, servers, and networks (Win10, Win11, Server 2016–2022)

* Office 365 management and administration

* Supporting Macs, PCs, and customer applications (training provided)

* VPN, connectivity, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting

* Installing and upgrading PCs and software

* Active Directory/Entra ID user setup

* IP phone system administration (web interface)

* Email and website hosting support (Linux & Windows)

* Contributing to IT projects and solutions

What you should bring

* Solid IT troubleshooting skills (anti-virus, disk space, CPU/memory, connectivity, etc.)

* Excellent written and verbal communication

* Confidence when dealing with clients over the phone

* Customer-first approach with great organisation skills

* A genuine passion for IT and eagerness to learn

* Full UK driving licence (occasional on-site visits required)

* Previous experience in outsourced IT support

Nice to have

* 2+ years’ experience supporting SMEs within an MSP environment
