Description
Vintage Frances Worters Mermaid Inn Tea Cosy. Unused and still in plastic packaging although the cardboard description attached has fallen off. Measures approximately 12inches by 9 inches. The Mermaid Inn is situated in the ancient cobbled streets in the Cinque-Port town of Rye, Sussex. It dates from the 15th century and features one of the largest fireplaces in England, a secret staircase and magnificent beamed ceilings. The inn was notorious as the haunt of smugglers in the 27th-28th Centuries. The tea cosy was especially designed for Tower Forge & Penny Royal, Rye, Sussex. Wash gently by hand.
