Description
Original Vintage 1980s VEF Spektr-3 Soviet Era direct dial telephone. Space age design in hi-gloss yellow. Original box. Stamped up underneath with made in CCCP and manufacture date of 1988.
The Spektr-3 was produced by VEF (Valsts elektrotehniskā fabrika) the State owned Electrotechnical Factory, based in Riga, Latvia. The Spektr3 was an innovative slim-line phone introduced in the 1970s and this is a direct dial version, designed to connect the owner or manager of a large factory to subordinates. Having a direct dial phone was a symbol of power at the time.
Comes with original cardboard box with cyrillic writing
I have many other vintage and retro phones from the Soviet era, as well as 1970s telephone handsets in bright colours from Poland, Czech Republic and Yugoslavia
These phones are ideal as talking points or for interior design. Several have been used by film and TV companies after I have sold them
