Description
Handmade decorative candle in the shape of a mallard.
Made by Swazi Candles in Swaziland, now Eswatini. The business started in 1982 in an old cowshed on a farm in Malkerns and by the mid-1990s had grown into a flourishing factory employing 200 local people and exporting all over the world. This particular item was bought from the factory in the mid-1980s while I was working in Southern Africa.
It has never been lit and has been used only as a decorative ornament. There is no obvious reason why it would not burn, though it would be a shame to do so.
