STAR TREK USS ENTERPRISE MOTION PICTURE STUDIO SCALE MODEL ONE OF A KIND PROJECT

Description

Up for sale is my DeBoer Hulls, USS Enterprise model, made to replicate the Refit Enterprise version as seen in Star Trek "The Motion Picture".

She is the only one of its kind in the UK and I have only ever seen one other in the USA built at this scale using this model kit.

The kit alone from the USA comes in at over $2000 with each kit being made to order and is considerably larger than the Polar Lights versions available on the market today.

She was built over a period of approximately 1 year by a professional model maker and at a cost of well over £15000 with the intensive man hours labour and the extensive material costs put into the model to complete it. The costs can be verified from the model maker himself if needed.

She measures 47 inches long by 22 inches wide at the saucer section and is approximately 12 inch high on her bespoke stand (not provided by the model kit producer).

The model has with it, a complete step by step YouTube video produced by the artist showing every step of the build process from the initial kit part assembly stage to final completion.

What makes this Enterprise model unique from any others is the build quality and complete hull pearlescent paint effects which are second to none and a lot of effort was put in to try to recreate the original filming miniature pattern as closely as possible using a lot of reference material and extensive research.

The model has in addition a bespoke internal steel armature structure including the arms linking the warp engines which are made of steel. They will never warp or sag unlike many Enterprise models, meaning that the model will last for many many years along with the paint finish being extremely robust and hardwearing having the automotive paints applied.

The model is very large and very heavy and features some lighting effects on the deflector, the arboretum, the hull windows, the impulse crystal and engine and one warp nacelle, the other sadly is intermittent which is the only issue, however, I am taking steps to get this issue resolved by the original artist who built her as we speak.

It might be possible to arrange for delivery of the model to any potential buyers address in the UK as the model would need to be stripped down for transport in a van and reassembled at the buyers address but would need to be discussed in advance and I would have the artist with me who built the model in order to do this work which I would pay for. Van hire and fuel paid by separate arrangement at cost to any potential buyer or local pick up preferred.

International shipping might be an option but again depends on details (shipping costs to the buyers Country).

eBay will not allow any links to the build of this model on YouTube so hopefully any interested party can look online for that. There are many blogs showing all the various stages and the work that has gone into this model build project.

I don't believe there has been any other model of this scale and not such a vast amount of detail added to each area of the hull as has been applied to this one.

I do truly believe from what I have seen to date, that it is the closest model made to match as closely as possible the original filming miniature version used in the movie.
