This is one for the Man Cave for sure
So, I went to a sale room a while back and this thing caught my eye. Its an Engine Turbine Cowling, unsure if it is from a Plane or more likely Helicopter, but someone has turned it into a stunning piece of Art.
At around 50cm in Height and 57cm diameter across the top, and 70cm at its widest part over the duct, it is quite a statement piece. I am amazed as to how light in weight it is though, its certainly a lot lighter than it looks.
I had great plans to turn this into a Coffee Table with a piece of glass or acrylic, or even turn it into a Planter to please the wife, but she was having none of it. (Online price for 8mm Acrylic top is around £65)
Actually, she didn't say a word, but the first glance at me said "What the hell is that?" and this was followed by a second glance of "Why is it still here?". You can feel my pain as I really like it, but as she cooks the meals in the house, she has to be obeyed and it has to go.
