Description
The coin features a design by Thomas Humphrey Paget, with the reverse showing Sir Francis Drake’s ship, the Golden Hind. The coin remained in circulation only until 1969, when it was demonetised prior to the decimalisation of the currency.
The obverse features the laureate bust of young Queen Elizabeth II facing right, with the surrounding legend:
