Description
A popular pocket reference series covering a wide range of subjects. Published in the 1900s by Frederick Warne & Co Ltd. Those with no publication date listed appear to be first editions.
1) The Observer’s Book of BIRDS: In excellent condition, 1960 edition. Describes 236 species. Superb full colour illustrations by Archibald Thorburn.
2) The Observer’s Book of CACTI AND OTHER SUCCULENTS: Describes over 300 species. 1960 edition. In excellent vintage condition.
3) The Observer’s Book of HORSES AND PONIES: 1961 edition. Describes 111 breeds and varieties. In excellent vintage condition.
4) The Observer’s Book of WILD FLOWERS: Describing 200 species. No publication date, so believe first edition. In good vintage condition, but pencil notes inside front cover. Beautifully illustrated.
5) The Observer’s Book of BRITISH WILD FLOWERS: Describes 200 British species. No publication date, so believe first edition. In good vintage condition, but previous owner’s name inside front cover with a date in 1929. Beautifully illustrated.
6) The Observer’s Book of TREES AND SHRUBS: 106 species identified. No publication date, so believe first edition. Prize label inside front cover. Damage to spin.
